WSISFU as Women Suffering In Silence Foundation Uganda is an NGO founded by Rosemary Nabwato on 15th August 2017 and full registered on 30th January 2018 to address the psychological traumatic experience faced by mothers with babies of brain and spinal cord damage; this was developed out of desperate situation she was undergoing of having given birth to a baby with brain and spinal cord damage.

Having had a shared problem the mothers with children with brain and spine cord damage interacted on several occasions and they came up with an idea of establishing an Organization that would cater for the problem that they undergo. It should be noted that by this time round there had been hard no Organization that was established to address the problem and incase if they were there had not done enough to create awareness or solve the problem. Having made consultation from different stake holders the mothers decided to establish an organization in the names of Women Suffering In Silence Foundation Uganda (WSISFU), with the assistance of WILPF Uganda section and Tropical Organic enterprise WSISFU came into existence and was registered as a NGO. Having registered WSISFU, an Organization that was established by mothers who had been initially desperate, a holistic approach of creating a stress free mind among mothers was introduced which include awareness campaigns , identification , counseling and offering therapeutic support to mothers with the shared problem, rehabilitation was introduced bringing on board educational support and skills development for parents and children etc.
